Electronics Quality Engineer

Overview:

The Electronics Quality Engineer position supports manufacturing operations by acting as a customer interface for problem resolution including onsite support as required.

In this position, you will:

  • Support and maintain various OEM specific quality requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Provide direct point-of-contact for both internal and external customers.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to ensure timely corrective and preventative action plans.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills by utilizing various tools such as, 8Ds, 5-Why analysis and Fishbone Diagrams.
  • Develop and submit PPAPs, FMEAs, Control Plans, etc. utilizing standard APQP tools and procedures.
  • Use detailed knowledge and experience to support and maintain various quality systems and customer portals.
  • Travel to customers/suppliers as needed to provide on-site support to resolve any product related complaints or issues.
  • Electronics troubleshooting capability.
  • Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams.
  • Basic understanding of software and software programming.
  • Ability to test failed or returned products, including creating simple test plans, set-ups and instrumentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related technical discipline preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in Quality Control/Assurance Product Reliability and laboratory test procedures.
  • ASQC certification preferred.
  • VDA 6.3 a plus.
  • Automotive experience required.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.
  • Electrical Engineer, Electronics Technician or fundamental understanding of electronics.
  • Must have thorough knowledge in the use of all standard measuring instruments, basic statistics, and quality tools.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills and be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • Must be able to organize, plan and prioritize work.

  • Proactive, team-oriented person who can anticipate needs, take initiative with excellent follow-through and require little direction or supervision.
